Google-ing burger patties recipe yesterday after watching Master-chef Malaysia and found out most of western country served burger with bacon...
What is bacon? Bacon is a cured meat prepared from a pig. Therefore for Muslim, better read carefully before you eat western food... If bacon was in it, definitely No! No! No!
And from Wikipedia, bacon was not listed as healthy food... Read quoted statement below:
Health concerns
A 2007 study by Columbia University suggests a link between eating cured meats (such as bacon) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The preservative sodium nitrite is the probable cause, and bacon made without added nitrites is available. Researchers from the Harvard School of Public Health found in 2010 that eating processed meats such as bacon, preserved by smoking, curing or salting, or with the addition of chemical preservatives, was associated with an increased risk of both heart disease and diabetes. The same association was not found for unprocessed meat.
Before Columbia University & Harvard School of Public Health exist, even before researcher or scientist were born, Al-Quran already mention that Muslim was prevent to eat pig meat (or any part of its body)...
And the statement in the Wikipedia was also not from Muslim... Researcher know it because of the knowledge they have... and Allah S.W.T knows better...
